Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Khazad-dûm
It has been many years since the Dwarves last heard from Balin. Now the heroes of Middle-earth must search for signs of him and his fledgling Dwarven colony. Khazad-dûm is the first deluxe expansion for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, expanding your game with 165 new cards. Two Dwarf heroes offer their services, and players gain the benefit of new player cards (three copies of each) while facing new scenarios filled with perilous locations and a menacing host of enemies.
On the Brink
You’ve found the cures to four deadly diseases. But what happens when those diseases get stronger? Worse yet, what happens when someone spreads them intentionally?! Return to the world of Pandemic with On the Brink and prepare for the unexpected. The three challenges included with this expansion evolve the base game mechanics in exciting ways. One disease might become a Virulent Strain and become more difficult to treat as the game goes on. Or you could introduce an unpredictable fifth disease with the Mutation challenge and watch it pop up in unexpected places. Finally, teamwork is even more important if a fifth player dons the mask of the Bio-Terrorist and spreads panic while moving secretly across the board. Try each challenge individually or combine them all for a major test!
Phoenix Five
Phoenix Five is a Kickstarter Exclusive expansion that brings a momentous saga to Marvel United. The mysterious Phoenix Force has taken over 5 powerful heroes, turning them into a group of Villains whose unbridled power few can withstand. It will be up to the X-Men, with the aid of Hope Summers, to face a daunting campaign against the Phoenix Five. The outcome of each battle affects the next, and each subsequent foe accumulates more of the Phoenix Force, posing a greater challenge.
Seafarers
Build ships, set sail, and conquer the magnificent island world of Catan. Nine voyages of discovery are awaiting the settlers.
The expansion can also be combined with CATAN - Traders & Barbarians and CATAN - Cities & Knights. The scenario box CATAN - Legend of the Sea Robbers is offering 4 new, comprehensive scenarios for this expansion.
Secrets & Lies
The haunted mansion hides a turbulent past. It sheds light on the strange events that led to the death of the spirit in Secrets & Lies, the second expansion for Mysterium. The task of the seers will be to discover these disturbing events, using their gifts and the 18 new history cards. The spirit will be able to use the 42 new vision cards to help seers as they investigate new suspects, new locations and new objects (6 of each). Come in, your place at the table is waiting for you.
Stak Bots Purple
Turn the tables on your enemies with disruptive new mechanics that let you attack and defend the base of your Staks!
16 new Bots across 60 cards bring a new wave of controlled chaos as you strive to manipulate and destroy all of your opponent's cards.
This is an expansion, but it does not require the original game to play (by using the online rules for the original).
Stak Bots Red
Like each set before it, the Red box brings 60 game cards with 16 brand new Bots, each with a different function: some manoeuvre cards when they enter play, some destroy extra cards when they do damage, some have passive enhancements, etc etc. Used in combination, these different effects and abilities allow you to create weaknesses in your opponent's card arrangement and then take advantage of it to destroy them! This new Red set has a strong focus on the number of face-up cards in a Stak and the arrangement of them, and it mixes in perfectly with both of the existing card sets.
The Age of Enlightenment
In The Era of Prosperity, you as the prince or princess promote cultural development in your principality and raise your people's spirits.
In The Era of Explorers, you board your ships to set out on a journey to faraway islands and encounter foreign peoples and pirates. If you can take the lead when discovering, victory is almost yours!
In The Era of Sages, a true era of enlightenment begins. Wise women and men intervene in the fate of Catan and cause many an event to take a turn for the better.
The Road Darkens
The Road Darkens is the second Lord of the Rings Saga Expansion for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game.
Its 165 cards introduce three new scenarios to the game, along with two heroes, twenty-seven player cards (three copies each of nine different player cards), eight boons, and seven burdens. Together, these cards allow you to immerse yourself in some of the most pivotal moments of Middle-earth’s Third Age.
From the Council of Elrond through the breaking of the Fellowship, The Road Darkens allows you to join Frodo Baggins and his companions on their all-important quest. Along the way, you’ll experience an epic series of memorable encounters drawn directly from the second half of The Fellowship of the Ring!
The Root of Corruption
Following on the heels of Thunderstone Advance: Caverns of Bane, Thunderstone emerges into the deepest trouble yet. The tunnels under the fortress at Cheah Dell are clear. The lost dwarven kingdom of Caligin is reclaimed. And the djinni lich, Mowtil, has been defeated, sealing the portal of black flame into Tala. The adventurers have collected three more Thunderstones, and Doom's full plans are revealed. He has corrupted the heart of Tala, Dun Ordha. A monstrous army marches on the capital city, even as the final Thunderstone is revealed to be held by King Caelan himself. Can the adventurers race ahead of an army to save the city from a siege outside the walls and sickly corruption within?
Thunderstone Advance: Root of Corruption, the second expansion for Thunderstone Advance, introduces new challenges and an all-new way to play: co-op! It also features ruinous sin incarnates, vicious scavenger gnolls, thrall summoners to bring back memorable foes, seven new heroes, six new monster groups, fifteen new village cards, and a new poster map board that creates options for co-op play using existing cards and rules! What's more, all Ambusher cards from Towers of Ruin and Caverns of Bane have been reprinted with updated graphics to increase visibility.
